Carol Burnett's Cutest Moments With Kids Erin, Jody and Carrie Hamilton

TV host Carol Burnett and her three kids, Carrie, Erin and Jody Hamilton, have a special bond. Even though they don’t see eye to eye at times, they still love each other endlessly.

Carol was especially there for her youngest daughter when Erin was allegedly battling substance abuse while taking care of her sons Dylan and Zachary. The Annie star “paid for all of [Erin’s] numerous rehabs. She’s been in therapy with her. She’s doing everything and did everything she could possibly do,” a source told Closer Weekly.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough. On August 19, the Carol Burnett Show star and her husband, Brian Miller, filed for temporary custody of Erin’s teen son, Dylan. In court documents obtained by Closer, Carol noted her grandson was growing up in an “unstable” and “unpredictable” household, which made the judge approve of her request.

But in Carol and Brian’s eyes, that didn’t mean they were going to replace Erin and ex Tony West as Dylan’s parents. “Guardianship [is] not intended to deny him nor the parents proper visitation with one another,” the Emmy winner said in the court documents. “We look forward to recovery being the next stepping stone.”

Despite the circumstances, Carol seems happy to care for her grandson. The Golden Globe winner enjoyed raising her three kids even with all the highs and lows, as Carrie also struggled with addiction. “We had a good 20 years — we were joined at the hip for a while there,” the doting mom once said about her oldest daughter.

Like her mom, Carrie enjoyed the spotlight. She acted in numerous projects, including the 1986 TV show Fame and the 1988 comedy Tokyo Pop. Sadly, Carrie died of lung cancer in January 2002. She was 38 years old at the time.

“I think of her every day,” Carol once said. “She never leaves me.”

Carol’s middle daughter, Jody, also worked in Hollywood as a producer. To this day, she’s known for working on the short film Lunchtime Thomas and being an executive producer on 2011’s Porkchop Playhouse.
